Jamel Adams (He/Him), originally from Zion, Illinois, in the northern suburbs of Chicago, began his role as Resident Director in July 2026. Prior to this position, he served as the Program Coordinator for the North and Northeast Areas, where he advised Area Councils and collaborated with campus partners to create meaningful and engaging programming within the residential communities.
Jamel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from Western Illinois University, where he first served as a Resident Assistant and discovered his passion for higher education. He later earned his Master of Education in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia, where he worked as the Graduate Assistant for the Office of Service-Learning.
Outside of work, you can usually find Jamel walking his dog, Storm, around campus, exploring Evanston's coffee shops and restaurants, or exploring more of Chicago. He enjoys working out, attending concerts and festivals, playing games, and discovering a new TV show or movie to watch. He's also always looking to try a new hobby, so don't hesitate to share your favorite interests with him!
